Isoboard ceiling is a high-performance insulation solution that is suitable for use in both new construction and renovation projects. It provides thermal and acoustic comfort in residential, commercial and industrial buildings while reducing energy consumption.

IsoBoard is a rigid extruded polystyrene foam that offers much higher R-values than standard rhino board. It is manufactured with microscopic gas-filled cells that resemble a honeycomb, giving it strength. It also has low thermal conductivity.

It is available in a range of thicknesses from 30 to 50mm. It will outlast the lifespan of most homes.

Insulated ceilings are designed to retard the flow of heat into a living space in summer and contain generated heat in winter. They provide a comfortable living environment and are commonly used in residential houses, commercial offices and schools.

Cavity wall insulation is a very effective way of preventing the transfer of heat from the exterior walls to the interior leaf of a sun-exposed cavity. It also stops moisture from condensing on the cavity wall and penetrating through the inner leaf.

Aside from its thermal properties, IsoBoard is also extremely resilient to water leaks and has a closed cellular structure that prevents it from absorbing too much water. It has less than 0.5% water absorption. This means that it will not be affected by a roof leak.

The ceilings in your home or office can make a big impact on the overall appearance of the space and how it feels to occupy it. A drab and cold ceiling can be counterproductive to the enjoyment of your surroundings.

IsoBoard can be painted to create a unique and stylish look. However, painting should be done carefully and only with water-based paints or wood stains. The boards should be protected from direct sunlight to reduce fading of the finish.

It is recommended that you use a downlighter with an ALU lamp, which has a thicker aluminium coating around it to help reduce heat build-up and shrinkage. This will prevent excessive heat from directly hitting the polystyrene foam which can result in shrinkage.

To install the IsoBoard, apply 5ml blobs of adhesive at 200mm intervals along the brandering before fitting. It is important to not smear the adhesive flat like butter; it must make contact with the brandering and IsoBoard so it can adhere to the surface.

Next, fit the board using long drywall screws. Fixing the perimeter of the board will give the most accurate and professional finish. Always fix lengths positively to the brandering on both ends, and avoid butt joints.

Once the boards are fixed, smooth the surfaces and fill any gaps. Once the entire ceiling is filled, the final step is to paint the ceiling with a water-based paint or wood stain of your choice.

IsoBoard ceilings are a great way to create a unique and stylish look that can be enjoyed for years to come. They can also be installed quickly and easily by professionals or DIY enthusiasts.
